The game has more than 1,500 challenges for players to complete. According to Guerilla, instead of racking up XP by killing enemies, players will progress through the ranks by completing challenges. The progression system in Killzone: Shadow Fall was also elaborated upon. This includes options like setting the number of players, which can go up to 24, rules of the game, mission modes, classes, abilities and weapons. The next-gen Killzone game will let players customise their multiplayer matches in a lot of ways. The trailer gives us a closer look at the game’s multiplayer offerings. Many other people didn't feel the same way who kept playing, it's not a popular opinion, but I stand by it.Developer Guerilla Games has released a trailer for PlayStation 4’s flagship FPS, Killzone: Shadow Fall. Once you get that unlock your gameplay will open up more. Sometimes in COD you have been getting bored, but then you work you way towards a new unlock from a challenge that makes things a bit more interesting. Together with no unlockables, as soon as I realized I wasn't having much fun anymore I stopped. I liked the game, it was annoying to me that such a minor balance issue was ruining the game for me. I know I would have definitely stayed a lot longer with that and a bit more weapon balancing. I thought the multiplayer would have benefited from a execute function like Gears of War or the Last of Us. I decided to focus all my attention on making sure all the players were dead but it seemed like a chore chasing those things down the whole time. If I went straight for the objective, I would usually be then challenged by the one player I just killed and the person who revived them. I felt like I was a liability playing anything other than support to my team, (even though I loved using and utilizing recon) also I felt like I was spending most of my time chasing down small drones and killing players a second time instead of playing the objective. Personally I left because I thought revive drones were overpowered. So why is no-one playing it? Is it for the same reason CS:GO died on consoles last generation, or is there something more to the matter?ĭid you buy Killzone Shadow Fall? What are your thoughts / opinions? It's arguably the FPS to play if you're competively minded. TL DR: Maybe it's just me, but KZSF is a really fun and predictable multiplayer battleground with little-to-no gimmicks or randomness to get frustrated over. The combat engine could do with a tweak here and there (Choppy flow to some animation sequences for example) but overall I find it to be a great online platform to test my skills in. Player numbers are still quite low but at this point I just want a game that rewards skill and tactics without giving me BS deaths from tanks, killstreaks, whatever. I decided to try Killzone again and I'm having a blast - I'm kicking myself over giving it up. Seeking a multiplayer to sink my time in to, I turned to Battlefield, but once again it's a fun but fairly unpredictable experience with the vehicles and what-not. I like to play my games with a competitive 'Play-to-win' attitude, but Advanced Warfare's three-lane map design combined with it's quick pace and fast time-to-kill makes it quite a random experience in which most of your deaths come from behind at no real fault of your own. CoD AW re-ignited my interest, but I've deduced that I can only play that for light-hearted fun.

I kind of took a hiatus from multiplayer shooters after that.

I personally had a lot of fun with it - It's one of the few shooters that's hard to fault in terms of balance and fairness of your kills and deaths - but that nagging feeling of "No-one else is playing this!" ate away at my passion for investing time in to the game. In comparison, even CoD Ghosts was doing well next to it. This was particularly shocking given the amount of PS4s sold with the game. Certainly, social media reactions from core shooter fans were pretty positive.įrom day 1 there were maybe only 5000 people playing at a time though (According to the in-game menus at least). I was a big Killzone 2 fan and looked forward to playing this unique multiplayer (No locked out weapons, challenge-based ranking system, no aim assist, etc.) as it seemed to directly appeal to those looking for a more tactical, team-based no-gimmick experience with a notable skill ceiling to it.
